Ink Astrology

Astrology was born for the very first time when people looked up at the stars and realized that those shimmering, distant orbs formed pictures in the heavens.

The study of Astrology – the prediction of personality traits and the divination of future events based on the relationship between Sun, Moon, and planets – dates back thousands of years to the ancient Egyptians, who were the first to make a science of it. The Babylonians, Greeks and Romans also held it in high esteem. Continue

CHIT CHAT
With Umaid Shakeel of Revelation Inc.

1. How difficult was it managing the Cannes Lions’ event in Lahore?

It was not difficult at all, but since we’re based in Karachi, it allows for more personal interaction when we hold events in Karachi itself. Sometimes participants want to know more details and they’re able to come and meet us beforehand. For the Lahore event, everything was done through email and telephone calls and – as happens in Karachi – we received requests from participants who wanted to meet us face to face, but that wasn’t possible, and that was the only problem we faced. LOTUS in bloom. By Ink

Selina Rashid heads Lotus Client Management & Public Relations – a one of its kind, Lahore based PR Company dedicated to the art, entertainment, and lifestyle and fashion side of life. It is not an event management or advertising company – ‘PR is always confused with event management and advertising! We do event PR not its actual management: we look after their publicity needs. This essentially means ensuring the event is hyped in the press before it happens, while it happens (live TV and radio) and after it happens through interviews, news bytes and features. We cover every medium of press communication, such as broadsheets, Continue

Make a music album in Rs. 50,000- A tutorial for young, aspiring, penniless musicians.

By Huma Sattar

Ready?

You have spent the last couple of years either down in your garage with your musical instruments and your band members, jamming, or locked in your room writing truly soul-searching lyrics for songs you would later on compose for. Then, one day you wake up to realize your work is not finished. Yet. You realize, the purpose of all those times you toiled at those songs and those compositions was to share it with the world. Let the world know what talents hid behind those sound proof doors of the garage. I am not exaggerating. You, an aspiring and a rather inspired musician are finally ready to hit it big. You are ready to put all those lyrics and compositions and jamming sessions together to make a music album of your very own- with your face on the cover, your songs in the CD and copyrights in your name. Too Clichéd to say

“An Experience of a Life Time”?

By Mishelle Raza

So here goes a short story …. It starts like this:

Last year, August to be precise, my friend and I were scanning through her pictures on facebook … wonders technology is!

While going through her albums, I saw that one album was titled “World Youth Congress – Scotland!” In that album were assortments of pictures showing her contribution to one of the world’s largest youth congregations. Interestingly, I didn’t bother to ask her much more.

A few days later, sitting idle at home, my devil’s workshop of a mind instigated me to Google it … and what did I find?? This event takes place once in three years … Scotland 2005 … Québec City 2008!!! And registrations had just commenced! The objectives of the Regeneration, the 4th World Youth Congress were to develop skills and support to enable them, more effectively, to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. To honor the achievements of the most Continue

Vaneeza Ahmad By Mushfiq Murshed

Professionally Vaneeza needs no introduction. On a personal level, however, I have just one comment. Human beings are generally opinionated. There is nothing wrong with it. Everyone has a right to his or her opinion, however, 99% of these people suffer from intellectual dishonesty. Vaneeza, on the other hand, is amongst the 1%.

The entertainment field is difficult to get into. You, however, have not only succeeded but excelled where many have failed. What makes you different? What is the secret of your success?
It’s difficult to understand. It can’t be the looks. As far as looks are concerned I feel that I’m an average girl. It must be my attitude. It’s important to have the right attitude to succeed in any field. When I say attitude I don’t mean giving someone an attitude but having strong work ethics and a focused and determined approach.
If opportunities don’t come my way then I don’t just sit around; I create opportunities and once I get something then I put my heart and mind into it. I want to be the best at what I do. Giving up is not an option for me. I never thought I would be a model. I never wanted to be a model. It just happened and once it happened, I thought might as well…you know… give it my 500% instead of 100% and make something of my life.

How did you start?

It’s a chain of events and obstacles…

  1. What’s the insignia for Ali Zafar?
    Peace.
  2. Music – part of your soul or you acquired it by practice?
    Both.
  3. “Everybody is a bathroom singer” – do you think anybody can become Ali Zafar by practice? Or Ali Zafar was born to be Ali Zafar?
Nobody can become anyone. We all have our separate identities which make us different by default and…
