Elvis’ Jailhouse Rock seems to have been written for Lindsay Lohan. The twenty-four year old perpetual jailbird has been sentenced to 90 days in jail on the 6^th of July, by Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, who insists there are ‘no excuses’ as far as she is concerned. Lilo, who was on probation for a DUI case, violated terms by not showing up for weekly alcohol-education classes. Her lawyer stood by her, protesting that her client “did the best she could under extremely difficult circumstances”, and Lilo’s mascara was irreparably smudged by a copious amount of pitiful tear-shedding but the judge held her ground. Tut tut, one thinks this girl would have learnt her lesson by now.

It seems that there really is no business as cut-throat as entertainment. With the same alacrity and unobtrusiveness as the original Darren was replaced in the 1960s-70s TV sitcom ‘Bewitched’, so perpetual drama queen Megan Fox has been replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whitely as Mikaela Banes in the Transformers franchise. Stills of the third installment, due for release in July 2011, have emerged showing the twenty-three year old, 5’9’’ tall Victoria’s Secret model together with Shia LaBeouf. All jealousy aside, this ‘actress’ has no acting credits to her name, oh wait, she did play herself in a 2009 episode of Britain’s Next Top Model. Applause please.

Aww, Jude Law and Sienna Miller are back together. Nanny, anyone? I mean, hanky, anyone? The two are apparently walking down hand in hand down flowery paths once more. I seem to remember a hitch occurring in the relationship last time, a hitch in the form of a 26-year old, sandy-haired NANNY. ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ just doesn’t seem to apply in Sienna Miller’s world. Perhaps a word of advice for Sisi, keep Jude out of reach of nannies.

Avant-garde singer of ‘Bad Romance’- Lady Gaga has more friends on Facebook than Barack Obama. The US president, who was the previous record-holder for the most friends on Facebook, has been beaten in this race at least, by none other than Lady Gaga. The margin is nothing to scoff at either, a landslide victory for Lady Gaga with 10,996,842 while Obama is left thinking ‘Say what?’ with a mere 9,967,630. Maybe the Republicans should think about recruiting her for their next campaign. Then again, maybe not. I can’t see all the Bree-Hodge-types warming to her, for lack of a better word, ‘unique’ personal style.

The life of Sandra Bullock, the quintessential rom-com starlet, has taken a decidedly un-romantic-movie-esque turn as her husband of almost five years, was unfaithful to her. Sounds more like ‘An Affair to Remember’ than ‘The Proposal’, if you ask me. The divorce was finalised with ‘Speed’ and alacrity as she declared her marriage ‘insupportable’. My my, not even ‘Two Weeks Notice’. No wonder her former husband, Jesse James is said to be distraught.
