Pakistani singer, Kamran Ahmed, made his Bollywood debut as a playback singer for actor Emran Hashmi’s “Jannat” with the hit song ”Lambi Judai”. Due to this, Kamran got recognition by MTV when he was named him Best Breakthrough Artist in 2009.
“Na Samjhana” is an aggressive love song about being strong and moving on. It was written and produced by Kamran Ahmed at his personal “Rockhood Studios” in 2009. To bring it to life, the video stages moments of love, innocence, betrayal and aggression. It focuses on a man who falls in love for the first time only to be betrayed and left alone. It shows how he gets back on his feet and outruns life once again. The wardrobe chosen for this video enhances the time-warped concept we have tried to exhibit.
Gaining first hand experience of exactly what went about while shooting this video, we experienced several memorable moments. Out of these the funniest has to be the aggression stage where the protagonist is shown wildly throwing away things and trashing his room. There comes a part when I smash the T.V set with an iron rod. Danish got the rod from his backyard and as he entered the room wiping the mud off, a lizard appeared in the opening of the rod and Danish (the proclaimed bodybuilder of the team) dropped it and jumped so high that he almost hit his head onto the ceiling.
Although that was more like his memorable moment, mine was when I finally stopped laughing and got my guts together to swing the rod. Mudassir, our cameraman, was kneeling right in front of me to capture the lower angle. That’s when I swing and it almost missed his head. It caused him to turn white and hasten out the room quite disgruntled. All is well that ends well however since this happened to be he final capture of the shoot.
