MTV Europe Music Awards 2010:1 comment

The MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 took place in Madrid, Spain this year. Host Eva Longoria , who had knocked Katy Perry off of her two time hosting reign, kicked off the Sunday evening event in Madrid at the city’s Caja Magica venue with a pyro-infused intro. Justin Beiber served as the “digital host” for the night, chiming in throughout the show via pre-recorded messages.

Lady Gaga was the queen of the award night, bagging three trophies including the trophy for Best Song for “Bad Romance.” Meanwhile Justin Beiber managed to win both categories that he was nominated for.

Kanye West surprised the awards-show attendees with a performance before the event began. He made a surprise (but scheduled) appearance, hopping onstage during ‘30 Seconds to Mars’ pre-show gig, performing “Hurricane” and “Power” with the group. After their successful collaboration with Kanye West, 30 Seconds to Mars was named Best Rock Act.

While Lady Gaga ruled the awards night, the newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand were a hit on the red carpet as they made their first post wedding appearance. Katy Perry then later took the stage to perform “Firework.”
