Ali Zafar has been nominated in the categories for Best Debut (male) at the Zee Cine Awards (14th Jan) and Most Promising Newcomer (male) at the Filmfare Awards 2011 (29th Jan) and Star Screen Awards 2011. Though he did not win any award in Singapore at the Zee Cine awards, Ali feels lucky for the love and recognition he got for his debut film. On a social networking website he wrote:
“Had the best time ever at the awards. Not just because of all the respect from the fraternity but the company of the most beautiful woman on earth…. my wife!”
No Pakistani actor has been nominated for any Bollywood awards before. Also his much awaited album Jhoom is set to release on 14th of Feb 2011, all over the world, including India. This album will be released in Pakistan by Ali’s own record label “Alif Records” whereas Yash Raj music will be releasing it in India and the rest of the world.
