Working on a full throttle career in the entertainment biz , all the while being a mom and a wife is not an easy task. However, Bhangra singer Nindy Kaur proves that it can be done. Traveling the world making music with the Bhangra trio RDB as well as focusing on her solo album, all the while staying involved in her four-year-old son Anoop’s life is a priority for Nindy. Find out more in our exclusive interview with the songstress here.

DH!: You have been in India since November and you rang in the New Year there. Are you going to work more in Bollywood this year?
Nindy: We have started quite a few projects that are in the pipeline, and we have a lot of things with Bollywood coming through. We also have the Worldwide Album and my solo album which is coming out in April.  Also the video for the track “Yamla Pagla Deewana” is coming out and the Deols, Parichay and we are all in it.  So we have quite a few things lined up for the year.

I love going to the spa, I was in Mumbai yesterday and spent the evening in the spa, I also love shopping!

DH!: You have been working with RDB for awhile, but what took you so long to do a solo album?
Nindy: To be honest wherever God takes me today it was really unexpected. After me and Manj got married he used to hear me sing in the car but I was always shy to sing in front of people. Then I fell pregnant and had no intention of singing anymore. When we went on tour people asked why I wasn’t singing, so I got back into it again. Next thing you know we got videos playing in Bollywood. Now it’s just getting to a point where I have so much family support and everyone asks me where my album is so now I really want to release an album and see what kind of reaction I get.

DH!: Tell us about the album.
Nindy: There will be a few collaborations. It’s going to be a mix of everything and everyone will be able to dance to it. It’s going to be called Nindypendent because Asian Woman magazine wrote an article about me and called me ‘Nindypendent’ so that’s what I decided to call the album.

DH!: A lot of women look up to you because you manage your family and career really well, how do you do it?
Nindy: I’m not going to lie, it’s exhausting. Just now I went to New Zealand and Australia, then Dubai, and now I just got to Delhi and I’m exhausted. But I’m still working and five minutes ago I was checking in with my son on Skype, he’s in England now, and I cook as well, but it’s worth it. When my son doesn’t have school he comes with me, he’s going to come with us to Goa on tour, sometimes he’s even on stage with us!

When we went on tour people asked why I wasn’t singing, so I got back into it again. Next thing you know we got videos playing in Bollywood!

DH!:You have always been involved with and supported RDB, is the saying “behind every successful man there’s a woman,” true in your case?
Nindy: For sure, definitely, to be honest we really encourage each other and that’s what makes it easy to work with each other. Fortunately because we’re with each other for 24/7, even in the studio we’re always bouncing ideas off each other so I would say we are all each other’s back bone.

DH!: Which are the top 5 things fans can look forward to in 2011 from you?
Nindy:

1.    The Worldwide Album.
2.    My solo album Nindypendent.
3.    RDB’s clothing line.
4.    My clothing line.
5.    Hot Bollywood songs coming very soon!

DH!: Tell us about the clothing line.
Nindy: It’s going to be music related and every day wear.  Lyrically some of the songs will be on the t-shirts; there will also be some comical things with instruments and stuff. Fans will be able to buy the merchandise in the next couple of months.

DH!: What are your favorite things to do on the road?
Nindy: I love going to the spa, I was in Mumbai yesterday and spent the evening in the spa, I also love shopping and tried to stay away from the Dubai mall but wasn’t able to!

DH!: Tell us something about yourself that fans don’t know?
Nindy: I’m blind without my glasses!

DH!: Do you have a message to you fans on DesiHits.com?
Nindy: I want to thank all the fans for the love and support, keep it going because without you we would not be where we are today. I really do want to thank the fans from the bottom of my heart.
