First Shantanu Nikhil gown makes it to LSA 2012
Humaima Malick, who is well known for her glamorous red carpet appearances, didn’t disappoint on her big day at this year’s LSAs [Lux Style Awards] (Pakistan). Wearing a floor length ivory gown with hints of spun gold, she shimmied down the green carpet attracting admiring glances from the media and fellow celebrities alike. The gown was designed and custom fitted for Humaima by the famous Shantanu Nikhil. This is the first time that any celebrity has worn one of his creations to the LSAs. The tucked in at waist gown, with the mermaid flair at the bottom, complimented her figure, while still maintaining the youthful elegance that she is so famous for. The au-natural look in makeup was a refreshing change from the painted peacocks that usually grace such events, and the hair do-up only served to enhance her striking features. Tucked into a side bun with dark tendrils framing one side of her face, she looked fresh and confident.
Veering away from the bold colours so common this season, she chose the light summer hue of ivory that both complimented her skin tone and also made her stand out in the crowd. This year’s LSAs truly belonged to her, as not only was she awarded the Best Actress in the Film category, but she also put on a show stopping performance with Ali Zafar in the finale act, which truly stole the show. There is no doubt that this talented actress has much more to offer to the Pakistani audiences. We now wait earnestly for her next project that is sure to endear people even in India, with her lead role in Sanjay Dutt’s Sher, due for release at the end of this year.
