The band showcased for the first time, the sound of <strong>Arabic Jazz </strong>as a trio. <strong>Kamal</strong> has been a pioneer in this genre since <strong>1999</strong>. He is an <strong>architect</strong> by profession, but decided to do music, as it is his passion. He went through various musical experiences such as <strong>traditional Arabic </strong>music<strong>, Flamenco, Rock</strong> and the <strong>Blues.</strong> From the late <strong>80’s </strong>to early<strong> 90’s</strong>, he began discovering more <strong>Jazz</strong> sounds through records by the <strong>Pat Metheny Group, Miles Davis, George Benson, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola</strong>, among others. He moved to <strong>France</strong><strong> in 1994</strong>, where he experienced another true musical atmosphere for four years, which helped him develop his playing styles on both the guitar and the oud. He is also influenced by <strong>Ziad Rahbani, Abdul Wahab</strong>, and <strong>Farid Alatrash – </strong>all renowned <strong>Arabic </strong>composers<strong>.</strong> He produced his first album <strong>“On a Jordan River’s Side”</strong> – released under his own label <strong>K&amp;G Productions</strong> in <strong>2003</strong>. The group has also been joined by a big variety of musicians among which are: <strong>Khaled Yassine, Dasha Tichanova, Sevine A, Rasha Rizk, and Julien Mathonet,</strong> among others… Recently Kamal introduced a new instrument innovated by <strong>Godin</strong>, called the<strong>Glissentar</strong>, which is basically a true marriage between the guitar and the oud. He is currently designing a new concept guitar with <strong>IBANEZ Japan</strong>.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial; font-size: 1em; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; line-height: 1.5em; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: 1em; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">About the Event / Concert itself:</span></span></strong></p>
<p style="font-family: arial; font-size: 1em; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; line-height: 1.5em; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">The event was well organized.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial; font-size: 1em; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; line-height: 1.5em; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">The venue, sound, lighting … everything was perfect. This may well have been because their own company, <strong>Jumana Production, </strong>which is one of the best sound, light and fireworks productions in world, was in charge. The venue could have been used in better way, as it is very huge place. The crowd was moving and grooving to almost every track. I personally enjoyed one track by <strong>Karen </strong>which she wrote especially for <strong>Barrack Obama and </strong>her own African and black supporters.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial; font-size: 1em; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; line-height: 1.5em; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">I got a chance to meet Karen personally. She was very natural, humble and nice; nobody would even imagine, at least I didn’t, that she is as beautiful from inside as she is from the outside</p>
