During the 1940s and 1950s, Pakistani women joined their brave sisters who had struggled for Partition – they participated in jalsas, led demonstrations on the streets, courted arrest, ran clandestine radio stations and shed the veil as a form of protest. I spent 6 days under (Shoot at Sight) curfew in Mingora, Swat . During my stay there I investigated the situation first hand as I did not believe the stories posted by several newspapers and television channels. My interaction with people of Swat at refugee camps in Mardan led me to investigate the real story, without any involvement from government sources, Taliban or Biased Media.
As of now the people of Swat are going back to their homes, but will they be able to heal the wounds created by the largest Internal Displacement of our times? Continue
